Son charged with elderly mum's murder

The son of a 72-year-old woman has been charged with murder after her body was found in the backyard of a home in Sydney's southwest.

Following investigations into the woman's death at the house in Villawood on February 14, police on Thursday arrested a 42-year-old man.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Friday.
