A 50-year-old woman is fighting for life after she was allegedly hit by an unsupervised learner driver in Adelaide.

Police allege Deb Arnold was walking down Currawong Crescent in Craigmore at about 9pm yesterday when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Magna.

She was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment and remains in a critical condition.

A 23-year-old woman from Elizabeth North who was allegedly behind the wheel at the wheel at the time has been charged with causing serious harm by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a collision and breaching learner's conditions.
