Snow falls in the Blue Mountains

It may technically be spring but residents in the NSW Blue Mountains were treated to a winter wonderland last night as wild weather and freezing temperatures ripped across much of the state.

Amateur video shows light flakes of snow falling upon cars and trees and transforming the region into a scene out of a fairy-tale.

YouTube user Jefferton James uploaded the footage which showcases everything from rosemary branches to shrubs and tree tops.

Blackheath residents reported around 10cm of snow fell on the ground last night, while even more fell at other locations around the mountains.
