Small business bills introduced

Legislation to implement the government's small business package - one of the centrepieces of the budget - has been introduced to parliament.

The measures cut the tax rate for incorporated small businesses by 1.5 per cent to 28.5 per cent and introduce more generous and speedier asset depreciation rules.

Small Business Minister Bruce Billson told parliament the measures were "historic, unprecedented and game-changing".
