Singapore PM gets travel advice from kids

Students from an Australian international school in Singapore have given the visiting prime minister some advice on what to do while Down Under.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has been officially welcomed to Canberra on Wednesday ahead of becoming the first Singaporean leader to address the Australian parliament.

Before he arrived, Mr Lee posted on Facebook a video students from Avondale Grammar School, an Australian international school in Singapore, had sent him.

"Dear Prime Minister Lee, we hope you have a fun time in Australia," one of the students says.

"Here are some fun things you can see and do while you are there."

The students list Australian features such as Rottnest Island and the Margaret River region of Western Australia, Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Uluru, which one student describes as "the heart of Australia".

"You could go visit my granny," says another.

Mr Lee wrote in response: "I'd love to grab PM Malcolm Turnbull to go to the beach and have an ice cream together, and visit Uluru, Sydney, Melbourne and Rottnest Island. Sadly, we'll be busy working."
