How would Groundskeeper Willie vote in the Scottish independence referendum?

One of Scotland's favourite sons has come forward to make his views known on the country's impending independence vote - all the way from Springfield.

The Simpsons' Groundskeeper Willie has graciously appeared in a short video to outline the pros and cons of both sides, including the "right one" and the "obviously wrong one".

However, the notoriously short-tempered Willie's objectivity is quickly called into question when he likens the Union supporters to worms crawling beneath British boots.

He makes a couple good points about a potentially independent Scotland becoming an economic powerhouse based on two things - ocean oil supplies and whisky (spelt, of course, without an "e").

Willie's true motives, however, soon becomes clear, as he nominates himself to lead the new Scotland, placing himself alongside great Scottish leaders such as "William Wallace and Andy Murray".

It's hard to picture the man who gave us the phrase "Cheese-eating surrender monkeys" as a nickname for the French, becoming a popular leader in modern Europe.

However, as Lunchlady Doris knows, it's equally hard to argue with those abs.
