Bill Shorten says he's not interested in slogans and plans to run a consultative government if Labor wins government on July 2.

The Labor leader was asked in Darwin on Friday whether he would guarantee no three-word slogans, captain's calls and respect for peoples' intelligence.

"The only three-word slogan I want to see in the next three years if I'm elected prime minister is `made in Australia'," Mr Shorten said.
