Shorten seeks inspiration from Canada

Bill Shorten will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other senior political figures at a summit in Montreal this week.

The Labor leader is one of the keynote speakers at Global Progress 2016, which will discuss innovation, digital democracy, diversity and economic issues on Wednesday and Thursday (Montreal time).

Others on the program include New York mayor Bill de Blasio, London mayor Sadiq Khan and German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.
