Shorten flags bank royal commission debate

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has flagged Labor will bring on a debate in parliament on the merits of a royal commission into banking scandals.
Mr Shorten said he was talking his senior colleagues about how best to advance the issue.
"We will fight for consumers and all the tens of thousands of people for whom the industry has let them down," he told reporters in Townsville on Tuesday.
