Bill Shorten has left after facing a long day of questioning at the unions royal commission hearing in Sydney.
The Labor leader was driven past waiting media as police stood guard to clear his path in Market Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Shorten spent hours answering questions about his former role in the Australian Workers Union in Victoria.
