Dashcam footage has captured the embarrassing moment a distracted Gold Coast shopper is smacked in the face by a closing boom gate at Australia Fair shopping centre at Southport.

Although the woman doesn't look to be injured, she perhaps just has a bruised ego.

The video is going viral on the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page, being shared tens of thousands of times.
