Police investigating links between Queensland shootings after man's arrest

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly found with a gun linked to two shootings in Brisbane yesterday.

Police were called to a home on Marsden Road in Kallangur at around 5am yesterday morning, where they found a 29-year-old man with injuries to his legs and buttocks.

A 30-year-old Bowen Hills man was later shot in the back outside a Clayfield Red Rooster outlet at around 12.45pm after an altercation in the Bonnie Avenue restaurant’s car park.

The victim refused to cooperate with police and officers have analysed CCTV footage of the incident.

At around 9pm last night, police stopped a car in Stafford Heights which was revealed to have false plates and belonged to a family member of the Clayfield shooting victim.

A search of the car allegedly uncovered a sawn-off shotgun, knives and drugs, and a 28-year-old Arana Hills man was arrested.

The gun found in the car is believed to be the same type of weapon used in the Clayfield shooting and similar to that used in the earlier Kallangur incident.
