Shaun Davidson taunts cops as they search Indonesian border

Australian fugitive Shaun Davidson is continuing to goad authorities via his Facebook page more than two months after his escape from Bali's infamous Kerobokan prison.

Davidson has apparently been honing his Photoshop skills during his time on the lam, this morning making an altered Shawshank Redemption poster featuring his face in place of the film's hero his profile picture.

This latest taunt follows reports last night that Balinese police believe Davidson, 33, may be hiding out somewhere along the border between Indonesia and East Timor.

"The Australian has not yet (fled the country) and is still in Indonesia," Bali Provincial Police Chief Petrus Golose said yesterday.

"(He is) the focus of a search on the border between Indonesia and Timor-Leste."

But if Davidson's Facebook check-ins are to be believed, he has been cooling his heels in sunny Barbados, sustaining himself with meals at the Café Luna after "afternoon training sessions" at the First Fitness Gym.

Before that, he claimed to be living it up in Amsterdam.

Davidson had ten weeks left of his 12 month sentence when he escaped the badly overcrowded prison, along with three other inmates, via a tunnel on June 19.

He also has an outstanding warrant against him in Western Australia.

Indonesia's prison system has come under increasing scrutiny following Davidson's escape and last month's discovery of 1.2 million ecstasy tablets, linked to a prisoner inside Central Java island jail Nusakambangan.
