Sharrouf is a 'creep', says Morrison

Khaled Sharrouf is one of many "creeps" involved in convincing Australians to throw their lives away in support of terrorism, says Treasurer Scott Morrison.

Authorities have never been able to confirm reports that the Australian man, who moved with his children to Syria to fight with Islamic State, was killed in a drone strike last year.

But someone claiming to be the convicted terrorist has made threatening calls to people in Sydney over attempts by the NSW Crime Commission to seize his house, News Corp reports.

Mr Morrison, who is on cabinet's national security committee, said he was unaware whether Sharrouf was alive or dead.

"Whether he is alive or dead, we all know what sort of a creep he is," Mr Morrison told 2GB radio on Monday.

"And we all know ... the way young people in this country are being recruited and groomed and solicited by these creeps and seeking to take them over there and throw their lives away."
