A shark warning has been issued after two children were hurt at a Perth beach.

According to Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development the boys received “minor leg injuries” minutes apart and were treated by a doctor.

The warning applies to Perth Metropolitan Waters between Sorrento Beach and Trigg.

Water Police were notified of a possible shark attack, but the boys couldn’t say how big or what type the shark was.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development said fisheries officers were investigating.

A spokesman couldn't confirm reports the pair were aged around ten.

The beach, in the city’s northern suburbs, is 500m long.
