'Shark' leaps from water during mums' surf competition

A shark has reportedly been photographed leaping from the water just metres from swimmers at a Coffs Harbour beach.
The rare sight was captured by local Steph Bellamy during a Coffs Harbour Boardriders Club competition in the surf off Macauleys Headland yesterday, the Coffs Coast Advocate reports.
The mothers' club was forced to cancel the contest after the shark reportedly leaped from the water twice, sending paddlers scurrying to the shore.
Surfer Sharni Winkler told the newspaper "it was real" and that her arms were still aching from the frantic rush ashore.
It has been suggested the shark could be a spinner shark, thresher or mako.
