Severe storms moving across Gold Coast and parts of Brisbane, bringing wild winds and heavy rainfall

Severe thunderstorms, including heavy rain and damaging winds, are set to hit parts of the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeast Queensland, including the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Redlands and Logan.

The wild weather is expected to hit shortly and the bureau has warned damaging winds and heavy rainfall is likely.

There is also the possibility of flash flooding.
