Severe storm warning issued for Sydney, Illawarra, Central Coast, Newcastle and surrounds

Emergency services are urging people to take care as several storm cells approach the NSW coast this afternoon.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Sydney, Gosford, Wyong and Greater Wollongong, as storms move towards the east.
The Bureau warns large hailstones, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds are likely.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and parts of the Hunter, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains districts.
