SES warns of scammers targeting residents affected by storm

Opportunistic fraudsters have cruelly targeted residents battling NSW’s most violent storm in a decade.
The NSW State Emergency Service has warned some home owners have been called by people pretending to be raising funds by a raffle to support volunteers.

“Please be aware we have had more reports of people receiving phone calls from individuals identifying themselves as NSW SES members running a raffle to support volunteers and aid logistical needs of the floods,” the service said.
“The NSW SES is not operating any raffles and would never do so for these reasons.”
