Security boost for MPs on campaign trail
AAP
Security has reportedly been boosted for more than a dozen MPs and their families during the election campaign.
News Corp Australia is reporting about 14 MPs are being shadowed by armed Australian Federal Police officers due to threats from "both homegrown terrorists and political activists".
But the AFP would not comment on details of the security arrangements except to say it had received more funding in 2014 to increase close personal protection to Australian high office holders.
