Second man charged after Sydney anti-terror raids

A second man has been charged after anti-terror raids across Sydney this morning.

Police have charged a 24-year-old man from Merrylands with possessing ammunition without a license and unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon.

He is the second man to be charged as part of today’s counter terrorism operation after Omarjan Azari was charged with serious terrorism-related offences.

9NEWS understands Mr Azari is accused of plotting to abduct people off the streets and decapitate them.

Nine of the 15 people detained today have now been released as investigations continue.

Two women have been issued Future Court Attendance Notices.

The investigation continues.
