Knife-wielding man storms Ballarat pizza shop
A man is on the run after attempting to rob a pizza store in Western Victoria overnight.
Video released by police shows the masked offender entering the empty Albert Street shop in the Ballarat suburb of Sebastapol about 11pm.
He then rushes to the front counter and pulls out a knife while demanding cash from the attendant.
The staffer runs away, and moments later the offender flees the shop empty-handed.
He was last seen on Rubicon Street, and may have been headed towards Elsworth Street in Mount Pleasant, police said.
No one was injured in the foiled robbery.
The would-be thief has been described as Caucasian in appearance, about 180 centimetres tall with a medium build.
He was wearing a blue Fila-branded cap, black jacket and pants, and black and white Nike-branded runners at the time of the incident.
