Spearfisherman washed out to sea in front of son
A father spearfishing with his son has been washed out to sea on the NSW Mid North Coast.
Emergency services were called to Laggers Point, near Trial Bay Gaol at South West Rocks, after reports a spearfisherman had been washed off rocks about 1pm.
A 53-year-old man and his son were spearfishing in nearby water when a large wave pushed them onto rocks.

The older man was swept back into the water a short time later and has not been seen since.
A large-scale search operation is now underway.
The man was last seen wearing a blue and green full-length wetsuit with a yellow-tipped snorkel and one black flipper.
