Chilly night for NSW bushwalkers

Two bushwalkers have survived a chilly night in the Royal National Park south of Sydney.

A 50-year-old woman and 47-year-old man phoned Triple-0 later on Sunday afternoon after becoming lost when they left the track near the Karloo Pools. The pair were well prepared with warm clothing, two mobile phones, a torch and whistle as well as water and lit a fire to keep warm.

After a night outdoors where temperatures dropped to at least nine degrees, the uninjured pair were retrieved by PolAir just before 9am on Monday.
