Search resumes for missing snorkeller near Batemans Bay

Search crews are continuing to hunt for a man this morning who went missing while snorkelling on the South Coast yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Richmond Beach in the Murramarang National Park, just north of Batemans Bay, at about 3.30pm yesterday after reports a snorkeller entered the water and was not seen again.
The 39-year-old man is believed to have entered the water from the rocks to go snorkelling.

Officers from the South Coast Police District attended and commenced a search of the area with assistance from Surf Life Saving NSW, Marine Rescue, Eurobodalla Shire Council Lifeguard and the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter.
The search was scaled back at 8pm due to bad light but resumed again this morning at 6am.
Assistance has been sought from the Marine Area Command, Police Divers and PolAir.
