Missing elderly North Stradbroke Island man found

Police have found an 80-year-old North Stradbroke Island man, previously feared missing in bushland near the township of Dunwich.

Ronald Maher was located self and well after police launched an appeal for public assistance earlier today.

An alarm was raised after Mr Maher was last seen on Wednesday at his residence in Dunwich.

Fears he may have become disoriented led police to commence a search of surrounding bushland.
