Body of missing man found in Brisbane River

Police are working to identify a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, who was found dead in the Brisbane River.
A member of the public called authorities after they saw what they believed was a man floating in the water near the Gardens Point CityCat terminal just before 7.30 last night.
His body was found near the Eagle Street Pier just before 7am today.

While his death wasn't being treated as suspicious, police continued to appeal for information and are waiting on the results of an autopsy.
A police spokesman said there were no obvious injuries to the man, who had tattoos of a crocodile and a lizard on his right arm.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
