Treasurer Scott Morrison has handed down his first budget, introduced as an "economic plan" for the country.

There were few surprises, but there were a number of significant changes to superannuation and tax for a range of Australians.

With an election looming, Mr Morrison used the opportunity to play it safe, and push forward the government’s economic agenda.
