Scott Cam ‘whacked Gold Logie in the vice’ to make bottle opener

The Block host Scott Cam has explained how he turned his Gold Logie into a bottle opener.

Cam appeared on Weekend TODAY this morning ahead of the first ‘room reveal’ episode of The Block Glasshouse.

“You can’t say, ‘Come over and have a look at my Gold Logie’, but I can say I’ll go and get my gold stubby holder,” Cam said, explaining he likes to ‘multi-purpose’ whenever he can.

“I just whacked it in the vice you know, marked it out, put a trimmer on it and just housed it out, and then flush-mounted it in there, a little bit of spray paint, drilled out the bottom, all good.

“It’s a bit of fun.”

Cam said tonight’s episode would feature “a Block first” but wouldn’t go into detail, except to say there would be “drama”.

This year, the show’s contestants are tasked with transforming an old office block in Melbourne’s Prahran into five split-level apartments.

The Block Glasshouse premiered last week.
