Lisa Wilkinson's #savethenotes campaign goes viral

TODAY host Lisa Wilkinson has started a viral campaign on Twitter to save the notes left at Martin Place for the victims' families.
Early this morning Wilkinson tweeted her hopes that the notes being left with the flowers at Martin Place were being kept.
Four hours later and the hashtag is trending across Australia, with people tweeting their support of the #savethenotes campaign.
Wilkinson has gone one step further in her commitment to campaign, offering to pay for and place a note and flowers on behalf of one of her followers who lives in Melbourne and was unable to do so themselves.
The City Of Sydney's Twitter page has replied to the campaign, stating that they will be saving the notes.
The campaign follows the #illridewithyou hashtag that has gone viral across the globe over the last two days, as Australia rallied together in a show of support for the Muslim community.
