Not even angels are safe from the wrath of the late Joan Rivers.

American comedian Sarah Silverman hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend and one of the highlights of the episode was her impersonation of her late friend Rivers as she arrives in heaven.

The skit sees Rivers wasting no time in roasting her fellow deceased celebrities, including Richard Pryor, Steve Jobs and Ava Gardner.

“Steve, I hope you’re forced to buy a new and better casket every six months, so you can see how we feel,” Rivers tells Apple CEO Jobs, as played by SNL cast member Kyle Mooney.

Rivers died on September 4 aged 81 after serious complications from a routine throat operation.

In the days following her death, Silverman appeared on ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel’s program to reflect on her friend’s life.

“I am broken inside,” she said.

“She was a hero to me and I loved her very much.

“She wasn’t done. She was at her most vital.”
