Update wipes data, leaves blank screens on South Australian Samsung phones
Blank screens and losing precious data is the issue plaguing some South Australian Samsung phone users after a glitch caused by an update.
Customers have taken to social media to warn fellow phone users that when updating their Samsung mobiles they are left with a blank screen, losing photos and contacts.
"Samsung users - do yourself a favour and avoid installing the most recent system update," one woman said.

South Australian Samsung phones are reportedly the only impacted at this time.
"I've updated mine and my phone has completely crashed."
Another user said their phone started the update before stalling and entering a "recovery screen".
"I tried to recover in safe mode now all it does is say Samsung. Can't turn off any thing. What a way to start the new year," the customer said.
Kangaroo Island Mobile Phone Repair warned Samsung customers to hold off doing updates until "the fatal bug update is fixed".
"If you do the update you will lose everything on your phone as it will require a factory reset," the company said.

Samsung Australia told 9news.com.au they have received reports from customers of the issue when updating their phones.
"At this time, these reports are from customers based in South Australia only," the company said.
"We are continuing to investigate this matter.
"Should your device be affected please visit a Samsung service centre or call our team on 1300 362 603."
Samsung Australia has not clarified what version of the update is causing the issue or which models are impacted for South Australian customers.
