One local got up close and personal to a three-metre crocodile as the Department of Environment and Science (DES) were removing it from a waterway in Far North Queensland.

Residents of Flying Fish Point, north of Innisfail, shared their concerns to the department, sparking the capture and relocation of the saltwater croc.

The DES said it posed a threat to human safety, and will now be placed at a crocodile farm or zoo.
