The problems for Salim Mehajer keep on mounting with the controversial businessman now being sued over a failed unit block development in Sydney’s west.

Ace Demolition and Excavation has launched a $6.2 million lawsuit against Mehajer, 31, over work undertaken on the multimillion-dollar project at Lidcombe, News Corp Australia reports.

The development fell through when the two companies the disgraced former Auburn Deputy Mayor used for the project reportedly collapsed, owing creditors more than $100 million.

The project was completed in April last year, with the development including 141 apartments and 16 commercial spaces.

Mehajer remains behind bars with his bail refused on a number of court cases.

The latest case found him guilty of assaulting Channel 7 reporter Laura Banks when he slammed his car door on her.
