Truck accident closes SA highway

A truck and a car have collided on the Dukes Highway in South Australia's southeast.

The car caught fire after crashing into the truck at Cooke Plains shortly after 9.30am on Wednesday, police say.

The fire spread to nearby scrub but has been contained.

One man was taken to the Tailem Bend District Hospital for assessment, the SA Ambulance Service says.

The highway will remain closed for some time.
