Speeding SA driver caught with weapons

A speeding driver is accused of assaulting police after being found with a knife and a bat in Adelaide.

The 31-year-old man became aggressive after being pulled over for driving at 110km in a 60km zone in North Adelaide late on Sunday night, police say.

A knife and bat were discovered in the car and the man was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 9 charged with assaulting police and carrying offensive weapons.

He was also fined for speeding and lost his licence for 12 months.
