Young pilot dies in light plane crash near Coober Pedy

A young pilot has died after his light plane crashed in remote far north South Australia.
Police received reports of the incident near Mulgathing, south-west of Coober Pedy, about 9.30am today.
The 22-year-old solo pilot died.

A police investigation is underway.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will also be investigating the incident.
Safework SA has been notified of the death and police will be preparing a report for the Coroner.
