Search fails to find missing swimmer in SA

Continued efforts by police and volunteers have failed to find a Victorian teenager missing and feared drowned off South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.

Seventeen-year-old Arash Yari was swept out to sea on Tuesday after being caught in a rip off Parson's Beach.

A friend who also got into trouble at the same time managed to return to shore.

Police said the continued search on Thursday had failed to find the teenager but were hampered by rough conditions and poor visibility.

They plan to return on Friday for a final attempt to locate the boy's body.
