SA wheelie bin murder accused faces court

An Adelaide man charged with the murder of a man whose body was found stuffed in a wheelie bin has pleaded not guilty.

But 48-year-old Andrew Damien Hallcroft has told the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday he is willing to plead guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

An elderly resident discovered the body of Allan Lee Ryan, 32, in a wheelie bin at Aldinga Beach on January 3 and police believe he was killed in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Hallcroft, from Aldinga Beach, was committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court and will be arraigned on October 12.
