SA wants reinstated federal road funding
AAP
The South Australian government wants the coalition to reinstate road funding grants to local councils in Tuesday's federal budget.
Regional Development Minister Geoff Brock says the Commonwealth last year cut supplementary road funding and froze indexation of financial assistance grants for three years - the equivalent of slashing $96 million.
"These cuts have unfairly penalised councils in South Australia, particularly regional councils, and I urge the treasurer to reinstate that funding in tomorrow night's budget," Mr Brock said on Monday.
