SA to extend payroll tax rebate

Some small businesses will save up to $10,000 with an extended payroll tax rebate announced ahead of the South Australian budget.

The rebate, which effectively halves the payroll tax rate for businesses with a taxable payroll of less than $1 million, will be extended for four years.

"South Australia is the lowest-cost place in Australia to run a business and our competitive payroll tax regime is a key component of that," Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis said on Monday.
