SA's fox pest status up for public review

The "pest" status of South Australia's foxes is up for review, with the state government seeking public opinion about how to best deal with the animal.

Biosecurity SA manager Dr John Virtue has invited people to have their say about the future status of foxes, as well as methods used to control populations.

"On the mainland they are a major pest, threatening the long-term survival of a range of native fauna and impacting on livestock production," Dr Virtue said in a statement on Friday.

People can comment on the state government's draft fox policy until September 25.
