SA MPs to lose some perks
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MPS ARE TO LOSE PERKS:
* Travel allowances for all SA MPs to be abolished. If they travel interstate or overseas they will need to pay for themselves.
* The changes cover all costs including flights, accommodation, meals and other expenses.
* If they want to recover some of the costs they will need to make a claim through their tax return.
* In return MPs are expected to get a pay rise, though the amount is yet to be determined.
* MPs will also lose extra payments to sit on parliamentary committees.
* Former ministers and premiers will lose their gold cards, which give them access to subsidised travel.
* The changes won't impact on government ministers who will still have all their travel and other expenses covered, though they will have to post all the details online within three months.
