SA man pleads not guilty to murder attempt

A man has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of a woman in regional South Australia, but admitted causing her serious harm.

Brian Holder appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday over the incident, which took place in Port Lincoln last year.

Police were called to a supermarket complex, where it is alleged Holder stabbed the 37-year-old woman in the hand before fleeing in a car.

She was taken to Port Lincoln Hospital and later released, while Holder was found by police and airlifted to Adelaide for treatment.

Magistrate Gregory Fisher remanded Holder in custody and committed him to the Supreme Court to stand trial on the attempted murder charge.
