SA 'favouring food trucks over cafes'
AAP
Uncontrolled growth in Adelaide's food truck scene risks cannibalising the city's restaurants and cafes, Australia's peak catering body says.
The state government plans to overrule Adelaide City Council's restrictions on food truck permits, capped at 10 per day, and help establish a food truck park.
"The premier's announcement favours start-ups at the expense of existing operators, businesses that have supported the South Australian economy through local spending, tourism and job creation," Restaurant & Catering Australia chief executive John Hart said on Monday.
