SA bus drivers need more protection: TWU
AAP
Almost one-in-three South Australia bus drivers have been assaulted, the Transport Workers' Union says.
Almost 80 per cent have felt threatened by passengers and more than half deal with aggressive behaviour every week, according to a union survey.
The TWU is demanding better protection for drivers - such as full perspex screens, an increased security presence and harsher penalties for offenders - in meetings with SA police and ministers on Tuesday.
