SA anti-corruption chief to face committee

Tensions between South Australia's anti-corruption and police watchdogs will come under scrutiny at a parliamentary committee hearing.

The state's new Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, Bruce Lander, will give evidence on Friday before the crime and public integrity policy committee.

Police Ombudsman Sarah Bolt took aim at the commissioner this week, saying his pursuit of "run of the mill" police matters had prevented her office investigating serious misconduct.

Ms Bolt said there was an enormous discrepancy between her office's budget and that of the ICAC, creating tensions between the two agencies.

Commissioner Lander has criticised the Ombudsman for allowing SA Police to deal with internal allegations of misconduct, saying this could diminish confidence in her independence.
