Teen, 14, charged after armed robbery at South Australian service station

A 14-year-old boy has been charged following an armed robbery in South Australia.

Police were called to a service station on King Street at Port Lincoln about 12.30am yesterday after receiving reports an offender had allegedly threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash.

It's alleged the offender fled the scene with a small amount of cash and confectionery.

The staff member wasn't physically injured, according to officers.

Police arrived at the scene before searching the area and locating a teenager hiding on London Street.

A knife was found under a nearby truck.

The 14-year-old boy from Port Lincoln has been charged with robbery and has been refused police bail.

He will appear via video link today in the Adelaide Youth Court.
