Perth mum charged over smothering daughter

A 32-year-old Perth woman has been charged with attempting to kill her teenage daughter by smothering her.

Police say the woman used a "soft item" to try to kill the girl three times on September 15 during which time the victim became unconscious.

The girl was able to seek help later the same day and police were called.

The woman has also been charged with aggravated home burglary and destruction of property after allegedly damaging several walls inside a family member's Swan View home between September 13 and 14.

She will appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on November 28.
