More SA storm volunteers heading to NSW

A second team of State Emergency Service volunteers is set to leave Adelaide to help with ongoing clean-up operations after the NSW storms.

Two staff and 20 volunteers will leave for Sydney on Friday to be deployed around the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Newcastle areas until Monday.

NSW emergency services received more than 21,000 calls for help during the storms and about 2000 are still outstanding.

A first group of 40 South Australian volunteers went to NSW earlier this week and will return on Saturday.
